Shooting September: Day 1 Nashville, TN food photographer

Spending this first day of September editing an assignment from this week at Martin's BBQ in downtown Nashville.  It was one of those shoots that just felt good... the location, the food and the staff.  After shooting I sat down to eat lunch and I think my exact words were "This feels like home".  I can't imagine any higher compliment than that from me because you see where I come from BBQ is almost a religion, it is the one food item that I am the most picky about, and when Im not in my hometown I normally do not even consider ordering it.  Lucky for me, Pat Martin's BBQ roots are dug deep in west TN.  But I think the best part of the shoot was when I saw the bottles of sauce that sat on each table labled Jacks Creek.  Growing up I have heard the story of my grand dad Joe getting up on Saturday mornings to run down to Jack's Creek to pick up BBQ for the weekend, and it was just one of those things that put a big smile on my face.  I never got the chance to know him, and when something makes me think of him its just special.  I found myself constantly shooting those bottles and I couldn't think of a better way to start off my Shooting September than with this shot of Jacks Creek.  Enjoy
