Ice cream, cookies and all things Pumpkin: Tennessee Food Photographer
Theres a pretty good chance if you ask me to bring food to a gathering I will calculate my answer so that it is something I can make with Aubrey and turn it into a photoshoot. This years family Thanksgiving feast was no different, I quickly answered Ice Cream! Yes, I got a few funny looks about bringing ice cream to Thanksgiving, but earlier this fall I found an amazing pumpkin ice cream starter at Williams Sonoma as well as some vanilla sugar cookies. Aubrey had a blast, I let her actually do more of the mixing this time and I was so proud of how well she did. We started with the cookies...
Next up was the ice cream! She loved this and being able to watch the ice cream churn she thought was extra cool! It didn't go quite as planned being that a large portion of our mixture didn't quite make it into the ice cream maker, but I quickly laughed with her realizing thats just part of cooking with a two year old.
Now you will have to forgive me for the lack of an unfinished shot of the ice cream! Like I said earlier, cooking with a 2 year old is an adventure, and in the adventure I quickly whisked away the ice cream to the freezer before it started melting. Hopefully I can update with a finished shot tonight during dinner.
To finish off I held up my end of the bargain and we had a tea party with her sugar cookies. This is when I am reminded of how much I truly love my job. I love the moments I am making and capturing with her. I love that my career is flexible enough to get to spend the amount of time with her that I do and I am most Thankful today for her.
I hope you and your families have a Happy Thanksgiving. Warm wishes and full bellies from our family to yours.
